Complete Guide To Comporta
Where laid-back luxury and slow living come together on Portugal’s effortlessly cool coastline.
Stretching along Portugal's Alentejo coast, Comporta has quietly become one of Europe’s most sought-after escapes in recent years - and with good reason. A place where laid-back luxury meets barefoot, beach living. It has that rare, hard-to-describe magic that makes you almost reluctant to share it. Think long stretches of golden sand, turquoise water, exceptional restaurants, and beautifully designed hotels, all wrapped in a calm, friendly atmosphere.
During our trip, I picked up the Portuguese phrase “sem pressa”—“no rush”, and it couldn’t feel more fitting for this incredible place, which has earned its place as one of my favourite summer destinations in Europe.

Things To Do
Shopping in Comporta - We loved Casada Da Cultura (a great indoor market) and Lavando (more high end but gorgeous womenswear, menswear and homeware).

Top Tips
Hire a car - Comporta town and the main beach clubs are around a 10 minute drive from each other.
From speaking with locals, it seems May and September are the ideal time to go. Apparently in July and August there are mega crowds, difficulty getting reservations and also lots of mosquitos.
Until next time!
